Top : Customer Advisory Boards: Customer advisory boards are semi-permanent panels organizations can use to have ongoing input and feedback about products, services, etc. Learn more from the material in this section.
Using Customer Advisory Boards
At the simplest level customer advisory boards are ways to "listen" to customers, and solicit the advice and input about products and services from the people who will or are purchasing them.
Customer advisory boards are different from focus groups, the latter tending to be short term, while boards have a longer tenure, allowing continuity of the feedback, something that can be very valuable.
It's surprising that using advisory boards is not a common thing, more common in academia, foundations and so on, and less found in retail, hospitality and most direct sales organizations. Too bad.
